The Mystery of Lyle and Louise Lab Investigation Kit - Drug Testing and Analysis
Grades 7-12.
A tragic car accident. A horrific double homicide. Business schemes and drug rings. Can you and your students solve the mystery of Lyle and Louise? This premier forensic science curriculum is designed for middle school, high school, and undergraduate students and is comprised of independent, hands-on laboratory kits. Each kit allows students to process different evidence from multiple crime scenes in a complex murder mystery scenario. Sets clear goals and expectations for students and is aligned with National Science Education Standards. Supplies are included for up to 30 students working in six groups.
With the criminals still at large, your students must decide the identity of the white powder found in the abandoned truck! During this lab, students will do several presumptive tests on the unknown white powder, then see how confirmatory drug tests are run in a police lab. Includes a fully illustrated teacher’s manual, six bottles of isopropyl alcohol, six bottles of Lugol’s iodine solution, 6 mystery powders, 30 known powders, 6 spot plates, and 7 powder dispenser spatulas. Materials for 30 students working in groups of six.
