Nasco’s Practices for Sustainability
Nasco is dedicated to supporting the art and science communities locally and nationally through contributions to agencies and events. Nasco employees volunteer their time and expertise serving as leaders for these agencies. We encourage participation in local civic organizations like Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions, and Optimists. Our retail stores provide us with a unique opportunity to interact with community members.
Raw material used to produce our products is repurposed into new products when possible. Leftover materials are sold to recyclers. Paper, plastic, and packaging materials are reused to keep costs in check and reduce waste. Nasco formed a Green Team which investigates renewable energy and cost effective upgrades to control utility costs. Many areas in our facility have been upgraded with motion sensors to turn off lights and timers were added to water heaters so they run on off-peak hours.
Continuous Improvement Teams help us control costs so we can pass savings on to customers. Sustainability is built into our business plan. Our goal is to be considerate of our customers and the environment through our daily operations.
