Generally, orders received on a business day by 11 am (CT) will ship within 48 hours (excluding "non-stock" items and live materials).
What are business days?
Business days are Monday through Friday (Items shipped Next Day Air on Friday will be delivered on Monday; items shipped Second Day Air on Friday will be delivered on Tuesday, etc.)

We will ship your order the most secure and economical way, unless you request a particular method of shipment. Most orders within the continental United States arrive within 3-5 business days.

Regular or Small Parcels

Most orders will be shipped using FedEx® or Priority Mail.

This icon indicates that additional freight charges may apply. Items with this designation require higher shipping charges than typical parcel rates due to size and special handling requirements by the shipping company. Call Nasco at 1.800.558.9595 for more information.

Nasco strictly adheres to the U.S. Department of Transportation regulations regarding products classified as “hazardous materials.” In following these regulations, you may be assessed a $24.95 per carton special handling surcharge for items defined within this category. For your convenience, these products are designated in the catalog by a ♦ or D.O.T. classification next to the catalog number.

Ground Service & Priority Mail

This is your least expensive choice and the default choice on the shopping cart.

Next Day Air

HOLIDAY SHIPPING for Next Day Air: Place your order by noon (CDT) December 21 for delivery December 24.* (Applies to in-stock items only)

Next business day after shipment, at additional cost compared to Ground. Saturday delivery may be available in some areas at extra cost. Call 1.800.558.9595 for details and pricing.

Second Day Air

HOLIDAY SHIPPING for Second Day Air: Place your order by noon (CDT) December 20 for delivery December 24.* (Applies to in-stock items only)

Second business day after shipment, at additional cost over Ground, but less than Next Day Air.

Three Day Select

HOLIDAY SHIPPING for Three Day Select: Place your order by noon (CDT) December 18 – 19 for delivery December 23. (Applies to in-stock items only)

Third business day after shipment, at additional cost compared to Ground, but less than Second Day Air. No Saturday deliveries.

Truck Freight

Used for large shipments and heavy items. Since this shipping cost varies depending upon location being shipped to, the final shipping costs cannot be calculated precisely. To obtain an estimate, please call Customer Care at 1.800.558.9595.

If you have at least one item in your cart that requires special shipping, after submitting your order, you will be contacted within 2 business days by Customer Care with a shipping estimate. Your payment will not be processed until the shipping amount is approved by you.

Filing Claims for Damaged Merchandise

Unfortunately, there are occasions when merchandise is damaged during shipment. If delivery was via truck, Nasco Customer Care MUST be notified within 15 business days of delivery to file freight claim with the trucking company. If delivery was via FedEx® or Priority Mail, please contact Nasco Customer Care immediately. IMPORTANT! In all cases, retain original carton and packing materials.

  • Please review your packing slip carefully. You may find that changes or substitutions are fully detailed.
  • If you need to contact Nasco Customer Care, make sure you have one or more of the following available: Nasco order number, invoice number, purchase order number, and billing and shipping addresses.
  • Authorized returns are permitted only by request on stock merchandise within 30 days of the date of invoice.

  3. Specify shipping date with your order: Try to order live material for Monday or Tuesday shipment. Most live shipments must be shipped overnight or 2nd Day Air.
  4. Prices include packaging: Except in extreme temperature situations.
  5. The Live Material Coupon Advantage: Coupons available for all live materials. Call 1.800.558.9595 for details.

Living Material Ordering Information

  • Please specify shipping date with your order
  • Try to order live material for Monday through Thursday
  • Due to state regulations, we may not be able to ship living material to certain states. Customers should check with their local government officials about their state’s regulations and restrictions.

A Word About Live Materials

All orders are subject to availability at the time shipment is requested. Variations from one specimen to the next may be possible, including those cultured under laboratory conditions. Nasco makes every effort to provide specimens at specific stages as requested; however, there may be variables beyond our control. Some live items are seasonal by nature or seasonal by law, and they may be only available at certain times of the year. There may also be fluctuations in supply from year to year due to weather conditions or other factors. We appreciate your understanding.
