Senior Marketing Analyst

DEPARTMENT: Marketing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establishes and implements best practices for data capture and maintenance of Nasco's customer and prospect lists.
  • Provides insights derived from sales and customer behavior that drive critical marketing decisions and enhance customer knowledge.
  • Identifies marketing opportunities by analyzing customer trends to enhance and create new business and/or programs. Researches best internal source data and requests data extractions from the ERP to develop these analyses.
  • Analyzes campaign performance, effectiveness, and growth and makes recommendations to improve response and ROI.
  • Performs customer segmentation and behavioral analyses to determine drivers of high customer lifetime value. Recommends strategies to improve customer acquisition and retention.
  • Participates in the creative development, placement, execution, validation, and measurement of test concepts.
  • Develop dashboards, standard reports, forecasts, budgets, and campaign analyses for catalogs and emails.
  • Successfully executes multiple projects, priorities, and schedules simultaneously with limited supervision.
  • Possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Able to identify trends, interpret data, and communicate recommendations based on results.
  • Partners with Customer Contact, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to implement initiatives to ensure best data/name capture practices and data integrity for existing, lapsed, and newly acquired leads.
  • Develops variance reporting and data validation processes to ensure accuracy of external database provider reports.
  • Intellectually curious and willing to learn new applications, including business intelligence software.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field; or equivalent experience which demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • 3-5 years experience in database marketing in a multichannel environment, with strong knowledge of direct marketing techniques and database fundamentals and best practices.
  • Advanced analytical skills, customer segmentation experience and knowledge of working with outside data sources.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Access is required. Familiarity with SQL and database structure/architecting and enhanced database reporting is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of direct marketing including customer acquisition, file management, customer segmentation, testing and reporting, with a proven track record of successful strategic application.
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of organization and accuracy.
  • Must be self-motivated, show good planning techniques, and have a good business sense.
  • A strong background in business, statistics, and business writing with an understanding of mathematical principles, economic fundamentals, and purchasing techniques is required.
  • Ability to represent the company effectively in dealings with suppliers is essential.
PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK EFFORT:
  • Keying/typing, sitting, standing, walking.
  • Constant mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness in an office environment.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; any disagreeable elements are generally absent during normal performance of the job.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
  • Travel Requirements are minimal.
  • FLSA status: Salaried — Exempt.
