An in-your-face series geared to teens, this program explores the themes of addiction and the dangers of tobacco through the lives of two ambitious teenagers. Kyle, a self-proclaimed nicotine freak dependent on smokeless tobacco, is a left-handed pitcher hoping to become a professional baseball player. An aspiring actress, Ashlee (who learned her habit from watching her mother) is a chronic cigarette smoker, able to go through a pack of cigarettes at one party. Each of them is unconcerned and nonchalant about their habit until reality is controlled and their worlds are flipped for 24 hours. Beguiled into believing they’ve won an opportunity to live out their fantasies, they instead discover the destructive realities of tobacco as they watch their lives go up in smoke. 21 minutes. Grade 6 to adult. Copyright 2002.
