Sink or Float Game

Grades K-8.

Introduce students to the idea of making scientific predictions with this fun game. Players predict whether 30 different objects will sink or float. If the player thinks that the object will sink, the card depicting the object is placed into the wooden box. If the player thinks the object will float, they place the card on top of the transparent lid of the box. Check to see if predictions are correct with the solution card. Expand the game and explore another step of the scientific method by having students test their hypothesis with real objects and water. Includes 10-5/8 in. L x 8-1/4 in. W x 1-15/16 in. H wooden box with transparent lid and slot, 30 transparent object cards (2 in. x 2 in.), a card showing water to put in the box (9-13/16 in. x 7-1/2 in.), a solution card (9-7/16 in. x 7-1/2 in.), and manual.
