Rainbow Architect Set

Grades PreK-8.

Wooden nesting shape sets painted in the 7 colors of the rainbow engage students in construction, sorting activities, and creative play, making the architect set a wonderful addition to any early STEAM curriculum. Each of the 4 geometric shapes (square, rectangle, triangle, and arch) is made up of 7 smooth pieces in that shape that nest one within the other. The inner block in each nesting group is a solid 3-D shape. The possibilities are endless:

• Use innovation and creativity to build towers, houses, or free-form sculptures
• Use the imagination to design rooms and fill them with play people or animals
• Apply mathematical logic to match and sort counters into colors, shapes, or sizes
• Learn the geometric properties of common shapes
• Explore size and scale
• Improve language skills and broaden descriptive vocabulary by utilizing math terms such as larger, smaller, taller, and wider
