Radiation Can Set with Lamp

An affordable and simple way to study absorption, emission, and Newton’s Law of Cooling. Includes both Radiation Can Set (SB26244) and a Clamp Lamp (C11387).

The lamp features vented, aluminum 8-1/2 in. dia. reflector, push-through switch in nonmetallic socket, strong, double-swivel clamps with vinyl grips. 6-ft. cord. UL listed. Bulb not included. Not recommended for anything larger than 100 watts.

The two cans are identical except for color: one is black and the other is natural, shiny metal. Determine which can is a better emitter and which is a better absorber. For absorption experiments, fill with cold water, for emission experiments, fill with hot water. A hole is provided in the top of the can for thermometers (not included) for measuring changes in water temperature.
