Ideal for studying the linear expansion of metals, this apparatus makes teaching easy and fast. The expansion is visible quickly on the dial gauge. Apparatus consists of a metal tube/jacket (steam chamber) in which a metal rod is inserted. When steam passes, the rod expands, and the expansion is measured on the dial gauge. The heat jacket has three inlet tubes for water intake, outlet, and thermometer insertion. Supplied with four metal rods (aluminum, steel, copper, and brass) measuring 23-1/2 in. L x 1/4 in. dia. The unit measures 28 in. L x 4 in. W x 13/16 in. H. Steam generator and thermometer not included.
