Developed by Nancy Berkas, Dean Berkas, Phillip Makurat, Ann Olson, Dave Olson, and Cyntha Pattison. Students experiment with variables (amount of water, force, and altitude) and record data using water rockets and clinometers (a device used to measure an angle of elevation). Each unit includes enough materials for a class of 30 students: 20 clinometers (2 for every 3 students), 20 water rockets (2 for every 3 students), 10 measuring tapes (1 for each group of 3 students), 10 sets of student team data sheets (1 set for every 3 students), and a teacher’s guide. The unit requires 10-30 calculators, which are not provided. Calculators and extra water rockets may be purchased separately.
