Students are statisticians asked to determine what the offspring would look like based on parents of fictitious pets called zaboos. Using the engineering design process as a guide, students research concepts related to genetics and Punnett squares to brainstorm and build clay models of a zaboo. Students will discover concepts about genetics, heredity, chromosomes, DNA, genotypes, phenotypes, inheritance, mutations, codons, ratio, and percentage.
