CYBER.ORG™ Apply Genetics Kit

Grades 8.

Students will create specific eukaryotic cells using various everyday objects. To guide them in the design, students will use the engineering design process. Once the cells are built, each team will switch their cell with another team and reverse engineer the new cell. Students will apply concepts of cellular biology, eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, and organelles throughout this module. This kit contains enough materials for 10 groups. Materials in this kit include: construction paper, toothpicks, large beans, craft wire, peppercorn, rubber bands, poster board, paper plates, craft sticks, foam bowls, Play-Doh®, pipe cleaners, and foam ear plugs.
