CYBER.ORG™ Explore Cars Kit

Grades 6.

Students are challenged to build edible racecars. Through the engineering design process they learn about various topics that influence the design of racecars. Additionally they learn about nutrition related to the foods they use to create the cars. The module culminates in a competition to see which teams had the best design and performing cars. This kit contains enough materials for 10 groups. Access to curricula materials can be found at http://www.cyber.org.

Materials in this kit include: toy cars, modeling clay, foam board, coffee filters, protractors, stopwatch, masking tape, calculators, vegetable peeler, tablecloth, scale, and screwdrivers. Not included in this kit: food for building the cars and a plywood ramp on which the cars to race.
