CYBER.ORG™ Apply Catapults Kit

Grades 8.

Students work for a company that is a leader in developing outdoor games. They must design and build a new multi-functional outdoor game using a catapult. With the engineering design process as a guide, students will research concepts related to catapults, brainstorm catapult designs, build, and test their own catapult. This kit contains enough materials for 10 groups. Access to curricula materials can be found at http://www.cyber.org.

Materials in this kit include: string, L-hooks, eye botls and nuts, foam board, masking tape, dowel rods, bucket, protractor, sand, gummy snacks, wooden stick, scale, foam cups and bowls, cardstock, posterboard, rubber bands, springs, and craft sticks.Materials required but not included: 10 each of size D Battery (K00131), 10 each of DC Miniature Motor (SB18068), 20 each of 9 Volt Battery (SB19164), 10 rolls of Electrical Tape Roll, 3/4 in. x 60 ft.
