It’s also a safe and handy accessory for the popular hair-raising demonstration. By discharging the collector dome first, you won’t shock
your demonstrator. Wand contains a 10-1/2 in. dia. aluminum sphere, polished to a mirror finish, mounted on a 15-3/4 in. (40 cm) insulated plastic rod. The flexible ground lead has a banana plug at one end and an alligator clip on the other for attaching to the base of most Van de Graaf generators.
