- Players try to knock a duck (ball) off the rock by throwing from behind a throwing line
- One player (the guard) protects the duck on the rock by chasing after those who are retrieving their thrown balls
- If the guard tags another player, that player then becomes the guard and must place their ball on the rock to be the new duck
- Players can avoid being tagged by placing their ball on the ground under one of their feet
- If a player successfully knocks the duck off the rock, the guard must replace the duck before tagging other players
