Footprints, shoe prints, tire tracks, and other impressions imbedded in soft material, if properly identified, preserved, and evaluated, may provide the crime scene investigator with valuable class evidence. Students become the CSI detectives and learn to properly collect, record, and avoid destroying crime scene evidence as they photograph and cast six types of impressions with various methods using ink, clay, carbon powder, plaster, and clay. Includes six separate experiments: Writing Impressions, Plastic Prints, Rope and Binding Impressions, Key Impressions, Shoe Impressions, and Tire Impressions. Materials provided for 24 students working in groups of two or four, depending upon the activity.
