Innovating Science® Blood Splatter - Bloodstain Analysis Lab Activity Kit

Grades K-5.

Students will work through a series of five stations while examining various aspects of blood splatter analysis. Study the effect of falling height on blood, the appearance of blood that impacts a surface at varying angles, common blood splatter patterns, the effect of impact velocity on splatter, and the manner in which various surface types and textures may affect the appearance of blood evidence. Includes teacher’s guide and student study guide copy-masters. Enough materials provided for 15 groups.

• 15 dropper bottles of simulated splatter blood, 25 ml
• Bottle of simulated splatter blood, 200 ml
• 100 small index cards (3 in. x 5 in.)
• 100 large index cards (5 in. x 8 in.)
• 6 rulers
• 3 protractors

• 30 tongue depressors

• 15 acetate sheets
