Innovating Science® AP® Biology Lab - Investigation #12: Fruit Fly Behavior
Grades 9-12.
Allow students to get the most out of their AP® Biology class with college-level labs designed to challenge the more advanced student. Students will explore key concepts while preparing for higher education. Enough materials provided for eight lab groups.
See whether fruit flies will move toward or away from important chemicals and food that aid in their survival. Using the choice behavior chamber, fruit fly behaviors are observed and patterns can be identified. Students will formulate their own theories based on the fruit flies’ responses and determine what materials and experiments should be tested further. Redeem the included coupon to receive fruit fly cultures. Meets AP® Science Practices 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, and Big Idea 4.
