A slow-drying paint with a slightly softer consistency than Golden® Heavy Body paints. Formulated with an optimum balance of pigment load and 100% acrylic polymer dispersion to produce a paint that allows you to explore a wider range of techniques such as portraiture and landscape painting that rely on softening, shading, glazing, and creating fine detail. The increased working time of these colors expands their range to include more traditional techniques once only possible with oils. Thick applications can dry extremely slowly, so it is recommended that you only use these colors thinly. Drying time can also be accelerated by mixing the colors with faster-drying acrylics like Golden® Fluid and Golden® Heavy Body colors. The slow-drying capability of these acrylics also makes them suitable for some printmaking techniques. Since the paints are slow-drying, if you cover your palette or seal your containers, you should be able to use the same colors for weeks, reducing the amount of paint wasted and preserving color mixtures for future uses.
