Fish Factory Kit
Grades 9-12.
The purpose of this exercise is to stress the relationship between structure and function and to study the adaptability of fish to their environments. The activities teach about classification systems, anatomy, habitats, and behavior. Pairs will create a new fish and assign their creation a genus species, then coordinate its habitat, survival techniques, behavior, and feeding patterns. At the end of their project, users will defend the characteristics they have selected for their new fish species in a five-minute presentation. Designed for 24 people working in groups of two.
