Ecological Succession Game
Grades 6-12.
This game provides an active learning alternative to passive methods of studying ecological succession. Students experience the stages of succession as they progress from bare rock to the climax community. Within each successional stage, students react to disturbance events and come to understand how disturbances affect the different communities in a successional series. Includes one game board, six sets of 54 event cards, six sets of four different color game pieces, 12 community events charts, 28 student worksheets and guides, and one teacher's guide. Designed to accommodate 24 students working in groups of four.
