Chemical Equations I
Grades 7-12.
Introduce students to chemical equations involving singular replacement and double replacement reactions. Student have the opportunity to perform two different single replacement reactions and two different double reactions. Observed are color change, formation of precipitates, and production of gases. Includes term sheets, activity sheets, laboratory exercises, a crossword puzzle, and a test. Activity sheets give the students practice in writing chemical symbols and formulas for elements and radicals (polyatomic ions) and writing formulas for compounds. This kit is designed for 28 students working in groups of 4. Experiment can be repeated twice.
