CORI Flying Automata Kit
Grades 2–8
Boost creativity and engineering skills with the CORI Flying Automata kit. In this project, students will explore the automata mechanical system while getting creative with their flying object.
Each CORI kit is designed to engage students in the learning process with building projects that unleash creativity and promote application of practical STEM skills.
Developed and tested by educators and engineers, projects are created with simple, high-quality building components designed to be space-saving, time-efficient, and budget-friendly. The highlight is the CORI cardboard beams, which ship flat (in sheets) and easily fold into strong, lightweight structural elements.
This kit includes:
- 12 CORI beams with tape
- 3 wood dowels
- 2 wood wheels
- 1 crank arm
- 3 dowel brackets
- 1 plastic rod
- 1 dowel-to-rod adapter
- 1 rod-to-plane mount
The only other supplies you need are scissors and glue. We recommend using a hot glue gun because of the fast drying time.
You can also supply some art and craft supplies and encourage students to enhance and personalize their creations.
