Grades 7-9.
A biology game that helps students to understand the heredity process of crossing over and genetic recombination, as well as the meaning and interaction of dominant and recessive alleles. Players are dealt 5 bunny and pea allele cards. They must put allele cards on the board until there are 2 allele cards with 1 feature and 1 allele card with a different feature on the board (all 3 cards must be for either bunny or pea). Players then take turns drawing an allele card from the draw pile until there are 2 allele cards of both features for either the bunny or the pea. Players then race to identify which bunny or pea on the board is represented by the allele cards and place their hand on the correct image on the board. First player to place their hand on the correct image gets 2 points, and the second player gets 1 point. But if a player places their hand on an incorrect image, they lose 2 points if they are the first to do so and 1 point if they are the second player to do so. Duration: 30 minutes. Each game includes game board, 48 allele cards, 8 hereditary variant cards, and rules.
