About the Simulator
Featuring the realism of appearance always found with Life/form® products, these simulators consist of two separate parts to make the learning and demonstrating of stump bandaging much more effective and convenient for teacher and student. These simulators eliminate the need for live patients and gives the students an opportunity to practice at their own pace.
List of Components
The upper torso includes the two arms, one amputated above the elbow, and the other above the wrist. Both arms are slightly extended, as a patient would have their arm while being bandaged. The compressibility of the material very closely duplicates that of a live patient and makes the experience very lifelike. The lower half is designed in the shape of a prone patient with legs slightly abducted. One leg is amputated below the knee, and the other above the ankle. The stumps are formed in the traditional way to add to the realism.
Procedures That Can Be Preformed on These Simulators
Most standard bandaging procedures can be practiced or demonstrated. The lower torso is long enough to allow carrying the bandage around the body over the uninvolved hip at the level of the iliac crest. (Note: There is no embedded palpable skeletal material.) Both units can be used to demonstrate the attachment of prosthetic devices.

Care of Simulator
Normal soil accumulated on the surface of the simulator can be removed with mild soap and lukewarm water. Use Nasco Cleaner (LF09919U) to remove stubborn stains from simulator. Simply spray soiled area and wipe clean with a soft cloth or paper towels. Most kinds of adhesive bandages can easily be removed. Use only Glue-Off (LF01023U) for removing residual adhesives. Apply a thin coat. Allow to dry, then rub off in a circular motion.
Cautions
Solvents or corrosive materials will damage the simulator. Never place simulator on any kind of printed paper or plastic. These materials will transfer indelible stains. Ballpoint pens will also make indelible stains.
