Grow plants in a method that simulates plant growth on a space station. Space Garden comes with all the materials needed to conduct biological, agricultural, and life science investigations just like the astronauts. Flown by NASA in 2007 on STS-118. The defining item in the kit is the Space Garden Plant Growth Assembly, which consists of a root module base, root shoot cover, and expandable see-through bellows that helps create a greenhouse environment. Also includes a packet of Tom Thumb lettuce seeds, seed planting foam, watering syringe, arcillite/fertilizer growing media, instruction sheet, and CD-ROM with presentations, activities, and more. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 98 or higher, 64 MB RAM; Macintosh 64 OS or higher, 7 MB RAM. Grades 5-12. Shipped UPS directly from factory. Allow extra delivery time.
