The beauty of this fish farm is its simplicity - it’s simple to set up, simple to maintain, and simple for a novice to successfully bring 100 lbs. of fish to market size under standard conditions. The entire system contains only 400 gallons of water, making heating, water changes, and overall size and weight minimal. All electrical components are UL approved and power consumption at a mere 60 watts - that’s under $4 per month! Maintenance takes less than 10 minutes per day and only two five-gallon pails of water need to be emptied and replaced. The entire system fits in a 6 ft. x 8 ft. area and can fit through a 36" door. Extremely safe, there is no electricity in the water and the system is virtually leakproof. Polyethylene tank is 64" dia. x 35" H. Made entirely of professional-quality aquaculture components, the Mini Fish Farm™ is not a toy. With minor maintenance, all components have a life expectancy exceeding 15 years. This complete fish raising system includes: a quiet, oilless air pump; state-of-the-art clarifier; self-cleaning biological filter employing moving bed technology; and a Clearwater™ low space bioreactor (LSB). The LSB manages as much as 12 kilograms of feed per cubic meter, handles a standing stock of fish up to 140 lbs., and is fully automatic, self-adjusting, and continuously self cleaning. Because air is used to circulate the media, the LSB both adds oxygen and strips carbon dioxide!
