Geometry I and Geometry II DVDs
PRODUCT DETAILS
Learn the meaning of geometry and its usefulness. In the first program, basic geometric shapes are defined and various dimensions are discussed. Students will learn to define point, line, plane, space, segment, ray, angle, and polygon; to measure an angle using a protractor; classify a given quadrilateral as a square, rhombus, parallelogram, rectangle, or trapezoid; to compute the areas of a square, rectangle, and parallelogram, and compute the volumes of a cube and a rectangular prism. In the second program, perimeter is defined and methods of computing perimeter are discussed, as well as triangles and circles. Students will learn to compute the perimeter of a figure given the length of its sides; classify a triangle by type; compute the area of a triangle given its base and height; compute the circumference and area of a circle given the radius or diameter; and classify a three-dimensional shape such as a cube, prism, cylinder, pyramid, or cone. Teaching guide and worksheet includedfor each program. Each DVD is 30 minutes. Grades 3-7.
