Designing patterns that tessellate is a motivating and creative way of teaching geometrical concepts. Lessons can be as simple or as sophisticated as the teacher feels is appropriate. Students explore shapes, design, and color, or concepts such as congruence and types of symmetry – translations, rotations, and reflections. Kit includes four activitiy sheets, eight sheets of cut-out tiles (on heavy card stock), design your own tessellation grids, and Tessellating Tiles Puzzle and Coloring Book (TB21902T). Grade 3 and up.
