This one- to two-week unit stresses a logical way to understand the usually abstract rules of adding and subtracting integers. Teachers of mathematics are often frustrated with suggested textbook methods of teaching integer operations. Students no longer accept a list of rules to memorize regarding integers. This kit helps the rules make sense – in an entertaining way! Unit includes reproducible masters, 30 desktop integer number lines, 30 counting bears, 1 overhead number line and bear, and a teacher’s guide with answers. Grades 6-8.
