Witness cell division with your own eyes! Gain firsthand insight into the critical process of mitosis, the reproduction of plant and animal cells. Students will use the “squash” method to prepare their own microscopic slides from onion root cells they grow themselves. Then they will view slides of a whitefish embryo to compare and contrast the process of mitosis between plant and animal life. Enough materials for 40 students. Grades 7-10.
