Various stages in mitosis are compared to the events of mitosis in plant and animal cells. Onion root tips are stained to identify the various stages and duration of mitosis. Purified DNA is spooled for visualization. Kit includes onion DNA extraction buffer, Toluidine O Blue stain, 35 mm onion root tip slide and whitefish blastula slide, test tubes, gel loading solution, and instructions. Lab completed in approximately 60 minutes.
