Female pelvic examination is a critical procedure that needs to be taught away from the patient. This trainer presents accurate anatomical and tactile representation of the female pelvis for hands-on examination and diagnosis for pathologies and abnormalities. It can be used for many levels of training from undergraduate onwards as well as for family health. The uncluttered design of this model enables trainers to concentrate on essential anatomy and procedure. Skills taught include: recognition of anatomy and appropriate landmarks, digital vaginal examination procedure, bi-manual examination, cervical smear procedure (including use of speculum), dry catheterization (Foley catheter sizes 10, 12, and 14), digital rectal examination procedure, and family planning aid. Features uterine assembled with uterine cavity and cervix, realistic and removable abdominal wall, improved urethral opening with clitoris, partial thighs aid anatomical orientation, removable abdominal fat pad to represent different thicknesses of abdominal tissue, soft perineum and labia, and realistic anus and lower bowel. Trainer allows freedom to present different training scenarios at appropriate levels. The surface of each foam component is washable with soap and water. Includes base, fat pad, female pelvic skin, clinical uterus with normal anatomy, bottle of silicone oil, and one bag of helix connectors.
