For illustrating linear and spherical expansion by heating and contraction by cooling. Mild steel bar measures 41-5/16" L x 1/2" dia. Mounted on a rod with a wooden handle and a brass gauge 5-7/8" x 1-1/2" with a cutout mounted on a separate wooden handle, which just admits the bar lengthways and a hole into which the bar passes endways when cold. Comes with instructions.
