This completely reusable kit provides the class with “pop” beads to simulate the DNA fingerprints of various members of the Romanoff family. With this information, the students trace the hereditary patterns which resulted in traits such as hemophilia. The activity provides a fun and engaging means to study such topical concepts as the Human Genome Project, DNA structure and extraction, and the use of gel electrophoresis in actual applications. Enough materials for a class of 40 students. Grades 5-12.
