Product Description
Graphically demonstrate that a cell’s membrane is selective in determining which substances it allows to pass in and out. Using a semi-permeable membrane model that simulates a living cell, your class will observe how this process of diffusion allows the cell to absorb vital nutrients and eliminate wastes. Additionally, students will investigate the process of osmosis and learn how this passive transport of water through the cell’s membrane maintains equilibrium. As a result, they will also learn what factors affect osmosis and how to quantify the rate of this critical process. Enough materials for a class of 40 students. Grades 5-12.
