Simulate the complex diversity of a prairie ecosystem in your classroom. Using a multidisciplinary approach in activities, the grassland biome will be explored and modeled. Students will be able to grow their own prairie grasses and forbs using Flex-Tank stacks, soil, and prairie seeds. The teacher’s guide utilizes the learning cycle as students plan, observe, and collect data. Each kit includes: two 1-1/2-gallon Flex-Tank stacks with six vertical extenders and two dome covers, prairie plant potting mix, seeds for six prairie grasses and six forbs, Prairie Primer book, teacher’s guide, student activity sheets, printed resources, and a videotape.
