An affordable and simple way to study absorption, emission, and Newton’s Law of Cooling. These two cans are identical except for color: one is black and the other is the natural, shiny finish of the can. With this set, students can determine which can is a better emitter and which is a better absorber. For absorption experiments, fill with cold water; for emission experiments, fill with hot water. A hole is provided in the top of the can for thermometers (not included) for measuring changes in water temperature.
