SciQuest® Sound Intermediate Set
PRODUCT DETAILS
Specific concepts investigated relate to: conversion of mechanical energy to sound, energy and particle motion in mechanical waves, and sound waves in solids and in air; properties of sound waves, frequency and pitch, how frequency affects wave length increasing loudness, and measuring wave length with open and closed resonating tubes; and a direct measurement of the velocity of sound in air, the indirect measurement of the velocity of sound by use of resonating tubes, and the effect of temperature on the velocity of sound in air. Includes 14 Investigations. Typically a minimum of 15 class sessions required to complete all activities. Teacher’s guide included. Set includes Sound Multi-Group Kit (SB17861M) and Teacher Video (SB23981M). Grades 4-9.
