This environmental test simulator is designed especially to show how the stream system is an important part of the watershed. This tank topper will fit on a standard, 20-gallon aquarium (20-gallon aquarium, SA04495M, sold separately). Inserts and pumps for pond and delta simulation are included. Teacher’s guide includes instructions for set up and studies in both standing water (lentic) and running water (lotic) habitats. Examples of topics covered include: formation of sand delta, effects of soil types on delta formation, positive effects of a marshland system as a filter, plant and animal adaptation to varied freshwater ecosystem, and environmental studies limited only by the imagination! Can be easily disassembled and cleaned for storage.
