Mat insulation provides zero heat loss to the bottom side of the mat, operates at 35 degrees above ambient room temperature, and uses less energy than comparable-type heat mats and heat lamps. Comparing a 13-1/2" x 48" heat mat, that uses up to 38 watts, to a heat lamp rated at 175 watts, an energy savings may be realized of up to 51% per crate. Heat mats install on the surface of any-type flooring and maintain optimal temperature for farrowing environment to reduce stress, improve digestion, and promote rapid growth.
