Kane’s newly designed polyethylene heat mats are easy to install, durable, energy efficient, and safe to operate. New mat insulation provides zero heat loss to the bottom side of the mat, operates at 35 degrees above ambient room temperature, and uses less energy than comparable-type heat mats and heat lamps. Comparing a 13-1/2" x 48" heat mat, that uses up to 38 watts, to a heat lamp rated at 175 watts, an energy savings may be realized of up to 51% per crate. Kane’s heat mats install on the surface of any type flooring and maintain optimal temperature for farrowing environment to reduce stress, improve digestion, and promote rapid growth.
