Provides a quick and convenient means of determining sugar content percent of jams, jellies, syrups, beverages, fruit juices, etc.; to determine percentage of solids in liquids; and determine maturity of fresh fruits. Read percentage of sucrose or solids directly from scale reading. Each instrument is precalibrated, but if required, calibration is easily made by turn of adjustment screw. Easy to use. Requires only a drop or two of liquid to give an instant reading. Read 0-32% soluble solids at 20° C. Scale division: 0.2%. Corresponding refractive index: 1.333-1.384.
