A growth chamber for the study of root development. Because the chamber walls slope inward, much of the root growth is in contact with the clear, break-resistant acrylic surfaces. Both sides of the chamber provide a clear view for observations. Experiment topics include: blocking the path of root growth, compacting the soil, observing the effect of earthworms, flooding the roots, and testing the “search for water” idea. Includes instructions for cleaning the acrylic. Overall dimensions: 19-1/2" L x 11" W x 16-3/4" H.
