An easy form of printmaking that includes a plate built up and manipulated by the artist. Uses a collage-like process which combines materials as diverse as cardboard, fabric, gesso, glue, string, sand, carborundum grit, and found objects. The artist can also draw lines into the gesso before it hardens. As a result, the plate may print as both relief and intaglio. Collagraph prints are usually pulled on a press. Enough materials for 36 students. Kit includes 36 Speedball® foam printing sheets (each 9" x 12"); 24 assorted frames; 500 foam shapes; 36 stylus sticks; 36 bottles of 4.4-oz. PRANG® craft glue; 36 ink mixing trays (each 6-1/2" x 6-1/2"); 18 Nasco brayers (each 4"); one 16-oz. bottle of black Nasco water-soluble block printing ink; and 100 sheets of 9" x 12" Subi® block printing paper.
