Salute to Swing Bands - A swinging show with Lawrence Welk and the band recreating some of the most famous songs from the Swing Band era. The orchestra plays String of Pearls, In the Mood, Sophisticated Lady, I’ll Never Smile Again, and Guy and Ralna duet on Sentimental Journey. 48 minutes.
Salute to the Big Bands - The show opens in high style with Benny Goodmand’s And the Angels Sing, played and sung by the entire cast, followed by the Big Band era’s most popular song, Glenn Miller’s Moonlight Serenade. Bobby Burgess and Cissy King get things going with a jitterbug to In the Mood, and Sandi Griffiths, Gail Farrell, and Mary Lou Metzger emulate the Andrews Sisters with the Pennsylvania Polka. The show ends with a spectacular tribute to Paul Whiteman and George Gershwin. 48 minutes.
