Magic Nuudles are a unique, nontoxic, biodegradeable material. Just moisten a Nuudle on a wet sponge and push it against another Nuudle -- the Nuudles will easily stick to each other, paper, glass, wood, plastic, cloth, or even skin. The possibilities are endless! |
Nuudle Ecology
Grade Levels: K-6
Objective: Demonstrate the difference between materials
that can biodegrade and materials that must be put into landfills.
Materials: Nuudles, polystyrene packing peanuts, polystyrene
cups, and PVC dolls and figures.
Procedure: Take two buckets full of potting soil. In one
bucket, place some Nuudles and cover with soil. In another bucket,
place packaging peanuts, polystyrene cup pieces, paper and PVC /action
figures and dolls. Have children cover with soil. Add water to both
buckets and stir. Do this each day for five days. Show that with
each sucessive day, the Nuudles (bioplastic) disappear, but nothing
happens to the plastic materials.

Nuudle Geography
Grade Levels: 2-4
Objective: Demonstrate the shape of states and how they
connect to form the United States.
Materials: Nuudles, scissors, and the outline of each state
containing the state name on individual sheets (8-1/2" x 11").
Procedure: Give each child the outlines of one state. Adhere
the Nuudles to the outline of the state on the paper and fill in
the state with Nuudles. Scissors may be used to cut the Nuudles
so that they fit into the state. Then lightly moisten the Nuudles
at the edges and stick the states together to form a complete and
intergrated "nuudled" U.S.A. with Hawaii and Alaska placed next
to the "nuudled" 48 connected states.

Nuudles and Homes
Grade Levels: K-2
Objective: Children will design and build a home or building
of their own choice. The students will include the usual elements
of homes such as walls, roof, windows, and floors if desired.
Materials: Nuudles, cardboard, poster board, crayons, markers.
Procedure: People can live in condos, apartments, mobile
homes, cottages, and houses. Share photos of different homes that
are available. Encourage the children to imagine they are a builder
and construct a home or building. Use the cardboard to function
as a foundation. After the buildings are completed, place each construction
on large, poster-size paper and draw roads, signs, trees, and other
community sites on the paper.
